We will have a unique excursion at the Grand Choral synagogue and followed by a Jewish cuisine cooking class. The synagogue in St. Petersburg is the biggest and one the most beautiful synagogues in Russia and third in Europe.

We will learn more about the complex of the Grand Choral Synagogue, that includes the Great Synagogue, The Small Synagogue, Mikvah (the ritual baths building, essential in Judaism) and The Synagogue of the Georgian Jews. Also we will experiment with the unique acoustics of the Choral Synagogue, which is known worldwide.

After the excursion, we will have a cooking class in the kosher restaurant Lechaim situated on the territory of the synagogue. Chef Zina Veytzman will cook two famous Jewish dishes: “a pearl” of Jewish kitchen-forshmak, which is a pate made of fresh herring with some onions, pepper and greenery and latkes - a crispy and delicious potato pancakes. You will be also served tea or coffee (Americano or espresso) together with your meal.

During this event our guide will also tell you about kashrut, shabat tradition and famous dishes for the most important Jewish feasts.
