The IWC Charity Commitee The Charity Committee of the IWC has only one big goal: to help the less blessed in and around St. Petersburg. We have good contacts with Orphanages, Hospitals and Institutes. We help them by donating items like beds, kitchen stoves, shower cabins, needles, medicines, computers, games and much more in many other ways. The proceeds come from several fundraising events such as our annual Winter Charity Bazaar, the Quiz Night, the Charity Cruise and other fundraisers. All proceeds go directly to the General Charity Fund of the IWC. All the requests for help are checked by the Charity Committee and if approved, we inform our Executive Board. The proceeds from the general charity fund are earmarked for NGOs only. For individual help we use the proceeds from the Peter's Teas. Teas are held weekly in member’s home and is a great way to catch up with each other, hear the latest gossips, socialize and have fun. The host donates coffee, tea and cake. The ones attending donate some money (Rub 100) which goes directly to the Peter’s Tea fund. With this fund we donate fruits for a Boy's home on a monthly base and we help with the cost of medications and medical treatment. Also we collect (second hand) clothes, shoes and toys and donate them to hospitals and orphanages. The Charity Committee could not exist without the support from our members. The IWC is very generous and supportive if we are organizing a fundraising event or by helping us in any other way. Thank you all on behalf of all those less unfortunate!
